Butler University, gener8tor, and TechPoint launch Education and Workforce Innovation accelerator

INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 17, 2023) – Five startup companies will receive $100,000 each thanks to a new accelerator program focused on transforming education and workforce learning, especially with advanced technology. The funding will be provided through a new partnership between Butler University, gener8tor (a global venture firm that operates accelerator programs), and TechPoint. Through the partnership, named the “Butler Accelerator for Education and Workforce Innovation powered by gener8tor,” Butler, TechPoint and gener8tor will equip the startups with funding, work space, mentorship, access to capital, networking and related support for early-stage small businesses and startups from across the United States and Canada. TechPoint to Celebrate 25th Anniversary ‘Best of Tech’ Mira Awards at Old National Centre

INDIANAPOLIS — Celebrating its silver anniversary next year, TechPoint’s Mira Awards gala—known as the “Oscars of Tech in Indiana”—will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Old National Centre in Indianapolis. TechPoint issues positive progress report for its Mission41K initiative

TechPoint, the growth initiative for Indiana's tech sector, has released a progress report on its Mission 41K initiative aimed at growing the tech sector by 41,000 jobs by 2030. The initiative, which launched in September 2022, has shown progress as Indiana has grown its tech workforce by 5.6 percent, which is double the national tech workforce rate last year. According to TechPoint, since it launched the initiative more than 100 individuals and organizations have taken the Mission41K pledge. The report shows that 92 percent of all jobs in Indiana require some level of tech skill. Tech employment in Indiana stands at 118,872 jobs at nearly 9,300 tech companies. TechPoint issues Q2 2023 Indiana Tech Venture Report: Steadying pace towards market equilibrium between startups and investors

The venture capital landscape today, with regards to deal flow, looks similar to that of the early months of the pandemic in 2020. Crunchbase data showed global venture funding in Q2 2023 fell 18% quarter over quarter to $65 billion, down 49% compared to the second quarter of 2022, when startup investors spent $127 billion. The first half of 2023 is down by similar proportions.
