Groundbreaking statewide research project examining Indiana’s economy and workforce will provide recommendations for improved economic future

INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 19, 2020) -- The Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP) is coordinating a groundbreaking statewide research project about the condition of Indiana’s economy and workforce, including the impact of COVID-19 and how regional economies are faring. The Indiana GPS Project is a series of multi-dimensional reports on Indiana’s economy. It is designed to inform public policy and business priorities that will spur economic growth, including recommendations about how to increase the number of good jobs available to Hoosiers. The research project, which began in August 2019, is being spearheaded by CICP and conducted in collaboration with Brookings Institution’s Metropolitan Policy Program and the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). Four reports will be issued between November 2020 and the beginning of 2021. AgriNovus Indiana study shows agbiosciences contributes $39 billion to Indiana economy

INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 12, 2020) — AgriNovus Indiana, an initiative focused on growing Indiana’s agbioscience economy, today released a comprehensive study that found the sector directly contributes more than $39 billion to the state’s economy. Conexus, Ivy Tech launch first commercial truck driving curriculum; benefits include student loan eligibility, credits toward a logistics degree and internships

INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 5, 2020) Conexus Indiana and Ivy Tech Community College launched today the nation’s first training program for commercial truck drivers that is covered by federal student loans and enhances a graduate’s employability in the increasingly growing trucking industry. The CDL+ curriculum will be offered beginning January 2021 at five Ivy Tech campuses and is currently enrolling students. An additional eight Ivy Tech locations will offer the course later this year. Ascend Indiana and EmployIndy launch modern apprenticeship program for high school students in high-demand fields

INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 27, 2020) – EmployIndy and Ascend Indiana today launched a new apprenticeship model for Indianapolis high school students to prepare them for the future in high-demand industries. Modern Apprenticeship (MAP) is a paid two- to three-year work-based learning experience with local employers, where students will emerge with a high school diploma, college credits, relevant credentials and professional experience. This pilot apprenticeship program starts during an Indianapolis student’s junior year of high school.
