INDIANAPOLIS (April 13, 2019)— TechPoint, the nonprofit, industry-led growth accelerator for Indiana’s tech ecosystem, honored the successes and innovation of Indiana people, companies, places, and products at the JW Marriott Indianapolis during the 20th annual Mira Awards gala presented by Angie’s List, Infosys, and Salesforce. With a sold-out crowd of 1,400 attendees, this was the largest Mira Awards in the program’s 20-year history. 2018 saw continued progress, and was an especially productive year for CICP, its projects and its initiatives (AgriNovus Indiana, Ascend Indiana, BioCrossroads, Conexus Indiana, Energy Systems Network and TechPoint). Increases in workforce, wages, exports and a $79 billion economic impact demonstrates Indiana’s life sciences leadership

The economic impact of the state’s life sciences industry – comprised of pharmaceutical, medical device and equipment, agbiosciences, research, testing and medical laboratories and biologistics - continues to grow and is now at $79 billion1 (according to data provided to BioCrossroads by the Indiana Business Research Center [IBRC] at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business). New program will increase the number of licensed clinical social workers to meet the growing need for treatment as Indiana’s opioid epidemic persists

To help address this gap, Community Health Network is launching a program that will prepare more licensed clinical social workers to provide treatment in central Indiana, while also improving the quality of the training they receive to better serve patients.
