Gener8tor’s new Bolt conference set for Indianapolis this fall

Wisconsin-based startup accelerator Gener8tor is shifting its conference strategy this year to hosting one large gathering in Indianapolis rather than a handful across the U.S., a move expected to expand networking opportunities among investors and entrepreneurs. The reimagined event, called Bolt, is set to take place Oct. 1-2 at Victory Field, bringing together founders, investors and corporations in a variety of industries from across the Midwest and beyond. The event replaces Gener8tor’s previous OnRamp conferences. OnRamp’s manufacturing and agriculture events had previously taken place in Indianapolis. Gener8tor’s other OnRamp events last year focused on insurance and financial technology, health care, and education and workforce development. Today, 16 Tech Community Corporation, alongside city leaders and community stakeholders, will celebrate the opening of the signature 16 Tech Bridge. Spanning 342 feet over Fall Creek, the bridge serves as a vital link between the 16 Tech Innovation District and Indianapolis’ research and medical corridor. INDIANAPOLIS – A shortlist of six firms has been chosen to advance to the next stage in 16 Tech Community Corporation’s process to select a design team for a bridge that will serve as an architectural centerpiece for downtown Indianapolis and the 16 Tech Innovation District. Among them, is a planned $14.5 million, 350-foot bridge that will span Fall Creek. “It really symbolizes the connectivity between people and ideas that’s at the heart of the mission of the 16 Tech Innovation District,” said Krueger, who notes the bridge will link the 50 acre district with neighborhoods, trails and assets in and around IUPUI and the Indiana University School of Medicine. INDIANAPOLIS - 16 Tech Community Corporation is inviting teams from across the nation and around the world to submit qualifications to design a new bridge that will become a signature structure for the 16 Tech Innovation District near downtown Indianapolis. The Request for Qualifications (RFQ) & Proposals (RFP) released today seeks submissions from teams for a bridge that will span Fall Creek from 10th Street and Riley Hospital Drive into the 16 Tech Innovation District as well as schematic designs for entrances and wayfinding within the 50-acre development. The 16 Tech Innovation District, located on the northwest edge of downtown Indianapolis, is being developed to build collaboration among innovators and entrepreneurs in life science, technology, advanced manufacturing and engineering in an urban live-work-play-learn environment.
