Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation Grant Opens Doors for Marion County Residents to Get Paid Training and Employment with Local Manufacturing Companies

INDIANAPOLIS (March 31, 2021) Marion County has nearly 1,000 manufacturing companies providing an average starting hourly wage of $16/hour, more than 20 percent higher than Indiana’s family sustaining wage. The Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation has awarded Conexus Indiana a $350,000 grant to train and place residents in these opportunity jobs and to help fill the nearly 10,000 advanced manufacturing job openings in and around Marion County. Conexus, Ivy Tech launch first commercial truck driving curriculum; benefits include student loan eligibility, credits toward a logistics degree and internships

INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 5, 2020) Conexus Indiana and Ivy Tech Community College launched today the nation’s first training program for commercial truck drivers that is covered by federal student loans and enhances a graduate’s employability in the increasingly growing trucking industry. The CDL+ curriculum will be offered beginning January 2021 at five Ivy Tech campuses and is currently enrolling students. An additional eight Ivy Tech locations will offer the course later this year. Second round of Manufacturing Readiness Grants awarded to 31 Indiana businesses

INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 30, 2020) – The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), in partnership with Conexus Indiana, announced the second round of awards totaling approximately $3 million to 31 Indiana businesses in Manufacturing Readiness Grants, which Governor Eric J. Holcomb first announced in May.
