New meetings bring council programming directly to southern Indiana, extending the council’s statewide reach

INDIANAPOLIS (May 20, 2026) — Conexus Indiana today announced the addition of two southern Indiana meetings to the Conexus Indiana Advanced Industries Council (CIAIC) calendar, expanding access to the council’s programming for industry leaders across the region. The new meetings are a direct response to feedback gathered from members over the past year, including input from two southern Indiana regional dinners and Conexus Indiana board members from the area.

The first southern meeting will take place June 3rd at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana in Princeton, Indiana. A second southern meeting is planned for August 20 at Jasper Engines and Transmissions. Both meetings are open exclusively to CIAIC members.

The southern Indiana meetings are an expansion of — not a replacement for — the council’s four existing quarterly meetings in central Indiana. The CIAIC will continue to convene on its regular schedule, with the new southern gatherings providing additional opportunities for members to engage closer to home.

“This expansion is a direct result of what our members have been telling us,” said Jay Wirts, President and CEO of Conexus Indiana. “We heard clearly, especially from our leaders in southern Indiana, that geography and travel were real barriers to consistent participation. Adding these meetings is our commitment to making sure every CIAIC member has meaningful access to the council’s conversations, resources and peer connections, regardless of where they’re located in the state.”

The CIAIC brings together senior leaders from Indiana’s advanced manufacturing and logistics industries to address workforce, technology adoption, and economic competitiveness priorities. Conexus Indiana works closely with regional partners to advance the sector’s growth across southern Indiana. In March, Conexus Indiana partnered with One Southern Indiana to host the first in a series of Industry Exchange workshops.

“The Evansville region plays a critical role in Indiana’s advanced manufacturing and logistics economy, and expanding the Advanced Industries Council into southwestern Indiana strengthens the connection between our local industry leaders and statewide partners. This creates more opportunities to collaborate on shared challenges like workforce, infrastructure, and supply chain resilience,” said Josh Armstrong, Chief Economic Development Officer at Evansville Regional Economic Partnership.

“Southern Indiana has the companies, the workforce, and the industry leadership to drive real impact for the state’s advanced manufacturing and logistics sector. The companies and leaders here are a critical part of Indiana’s statewide story and having the Advanced Industries Council convene here means more connections get made — which is good for the whole state.” said, Lance Allison, President and CEO at One Southern Indiana.

“Our manufacturers are doing remarkable work, and this expansion of the Advanced Industries Council means they’ll have direct access to the statewide peer conversations and resources that can help them go even further. It’s a meaningful opportunity for Dubois County and for southern Indiana,” said Jeff Quyle, President and CEO at Radius Indiana.

Building on this expansion, Conexus Indiana plans to bring council programming to Northern Indiana in 2027, continuing to extend the council’s reach across Indiana.
