TechPoint now accepting entries for the 23rd annual Mira Awards celebrating the ‘Best of Tech in Indiana’

INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 30, 2021) — TechPoint has officially launched the entry process for the 23rd annual Mira Awards, Indiana’s largest, best known and most prestigious technology awards program. People are encouraged to enter the awards themselves or they can nominate others in 15 different “Best of Tech in Indiana” award categories. The Mira Awards gala, which is often referred to as “Tech’s Biggest Night” and the “Oscars of Tech” for the state of Indiana, will return to the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis as an in-person event next spring on Saturday, April 23, 2022. AgriNovus Indiana announces additions to its Board of Directors

The board unanimously approved new seats for the following: Brian Anderson, director of economic development, Wabash Valley Power Alliance Anna Haldewang, founder and CEO, InsightTRAC Ambassador Kip Tom, formerly of the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture (Rome, Italy) Former AgriNovus board chair, Aaron Schacht, was also approved for an at-large seat representing Elanco’s recent carve-out focused on a microbiome research and development platform. After 2-year hiatus, TechPoint brings back Sales Bootcamps in 2022

Student teams from Indiana University, Purdue University and Purdue Polytechnic Anderson win Conexus Indiana National Collegiate Case Competition

INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 9, 2021) Students from Indiana University, Purdue University and Purdue Polytechnic Institute (Anderson) were named winners in the sixth annual Conexus Indiana National Collegiate Case Competition. The case competition fielded 24 teams and challenged the students to solve one of two advanced manufacturing and logistics business cases with first- second- and third-place winners named in three different tracks. The three first-place teams each won $5,000, with second- and third-place teams each taking home $2,000 and $1,000, respectively. The Conexus Indiana Case Competition is held annually and encourages college students to use what they’ve learned in the classroom in a simulated real-world environment. Report finds poor K-12 outcomes, high waiver diploma usage, and declining college enrollment among the key factors in education and workforce opportunity gaps. INDIANAPOLIS (November 9, 2021) — Black and Hispanic residents in Indiana and Marion County experience significant gaps in education outcomes and employment opportunities compared to white residents, a new analysis shows. Disparities are pronounced in K-12 education and continue through postsecondary education and the workforce, hindering individuals’ ability to prosper, businesses’ ability to thrive, and the vitality of the city and state. The report, released today by Business Equity for Indy’s (BEI) Learning and Talent Opportunities Taskforce, examines public data from the U.S. Census, Indiana Management Performance Hub and other state agencies. INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 29, 2021) – Ascend Indiana, the talent and workforce development initiative of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), has announced awards of $115,000 each to bolster three regional youth apprenticeship efforts in Indiana. Through generous support from Bloomberg Philanthropies, Ascend is working alongside the Partnership to Advance Youth Apprenticeship (PAYA) at New America to provide awards and technical support through the Indiana Youth Apprenticeship Accelerator (Accelerator) initiative. PAYA is a national consortium of organizations supporting states and cities in their efforts to expand access to high-quality apprenticeship opportunities for high school-aged youth.
