BioCrossroads announces 2019 Indiana Life Sciences Summit lineup

INDIANAPOLIS (July 10, 2019) - BioCrossroads today announced its agenda and launched registration for the 2019 Indiana Life Sciences Summit on Sept. 26 at the Indianapolis Marriott North. The full-day Summit kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with the scientific session, business track, and poster session and ends with the Cook Medical and Eli Lilly and Company Networking Reception. BioCrossroads names Patricia Martin President and CEO

INDIANAPOLIS (June 26, 2019) —BioCrossroads today announced that, after a national search, Patricia (Patty) Martin, a former Eli Lilly and Company executive, has been named president and CEO. A veteran life sciences and community leader, she is BioCrossroads’ third CEO in its 17-year history. At Lilly, Martin was the chief operating officer (COO) of Lilly Diabetes for seven years and also served as Lilly’s Chief Diversity Officer (CDO), Chief Alliance Officer (CAO) and other leadership roles that included strategy, clinical product development, and investor relations. Martin also is involved in Indianapolis non-profit organizations. She is currently a member of the Indiana University Women’s Philanthropy Leadership Council and was the board chair for the 500 Festival in 2016. She succeeds David L. INDIANAPOLIS (January 31, 2019) — BioCrossroads today announces three prominent members of Indiana’s life sciences community have joined its board of directors: Aaron Schacht, executive vice president – Innovation, Regulatory & Business Development, Elanco US Inc.; J.J. Spegele, vice president, global business solutions, Covance Central Laboratory Services; and Dr. Ram Yeleti, executive vice president / chief physician executive, Community Health Network. Schacht leads research & development, regulatory affairs and business development for Elanco Animal Health, following a 25-year career at Lilly in R&D, Strategy and External Innovation roles. IBJ: Indiana life sciences companies raise record $115 million in venture capital

The Indianapolis Business Journal's John Russell is reporting that Indiana life sciences companies raised $115 million in venture capital funding in 2018, a three percent jump from 2017 and 133 percent higher than 2015. “The thing that jumped out at me was the variety,” said Brian Stemme, who tracks venture deals for BioCrossroads (CICP's life sciences initiative), pointing to products under development ranging from cancer drugs to tele-health software.
