Darshan Shah, senior vice president and chief data officer, BioCrossroads

INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 6, 2020) – BioCrossroads announces that accomplished data and healthcare leader Darshan Shah has joined the organization as senior vice president/chief data officer. Shah brings the organization two decades of proven success in strategically guiding healthcare and life sciences organizations in a variety of functions including operations, finance, quality, engineering and sales. He joins BioCrossroads after serving as chief data officer for the State of Indiana and executive director of the Management and Performance Hub (MPH). As a result of his vision and leadership, MPH is a national leader in transforming state government through the use of data and analytics.

Building upon his background and experience, Shah will focus on programs and projects that advance Indiana’s life sciences data analytics strategy, including the opportunities and recommendations from an upcoming study from TEConomy: Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Indiana’s Innovation Economy.

In collaboration with BioCrossroads’ related entities, such as the Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE) and the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute (IBRI), Shah will facilitate joint projects to address Indiana data analysis opportunities. Additionally, he will lead BioCrossroads’ data and population health-related projects, including the DataX Challenge.

Prior to joining MPH, Shah played an integral role in helping numerous states build solutions for state-based Health Insurance Exchanges. He also worked for OurHealth, Deloitte Consulting, and Eli Lilly and Company. Shah earned an MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business and a bachelor’s of science degree in Computer Engineering from Purdue University.
