Statement of Support: We, leaders from the business community throughout Indiana, endorse Governor Holcomb’s decision to mandate wearing masks in public places for all Hoosiers, effective July 27, 2020, in response to the continuing challenges of COVID-19. All organizations and people in the state have a role to play in mitigating the spread of this dangerous and disruptive disease, which shows few signs of abating. The Governor’s announcement reinforces what many of us are already doing in our own organizations -- requiring the use of masks in the workplace. We are grateful for the Governor’s careful and caring leadership here. This is a prudent step to take to promote everyone’s safety, especially as our youngest citizens prepare to return to school.
