Butler University partnering with Ascend Indiana to connect students with Indiana employers

INDIANAPOLIS (February 21, 2023) – Butler University is partnering with Ascend Indiana to connect more students to good and promising career opportunities in Indiana. Through the Ascend Network (the initiative’s online job matching platform), Butler students can connect with Indiana jobs and internships that match their skill sets and interests and receive increased one-on-one career guidance and job search support. In addition, this partnership provides Indiana’s leading employers with a unique platform for hiring Butler students. Since its inception in 2017, Ascend has connected more than 3,000 Hoosiers with jobs and training opportunities in all sectors across the state. Stephanie Bothun, vice president and co-founder of Ascend Indiana, has been named one of 60 Scholars who will form the Presidential Leadership Scholars’ (PLS) eighth annual class. PLS serves as a catalyst for a diverse network of leaders brought together to collaborate and create meaningful change in the United States and around the world as they learn about leadership through the lens of the presidential experiences of George W. INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 3, 2022) – A new report from Ascend Indiana and EmployIndy shows that as the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions began to ease over time, a vast and permanent shift emerged showing that highly skilled, highly educated workers were the most in-demand, while at the same time, Indiana was seeing significant declines in postsecondary enrollment by Indiana residents. IBJ: Ascend Indiana Developing Strategies to Keep College Grads in State

The CICP talent initiative Ascend Indiana is committed to making Indiana a place of economic opportunity for all by helping to keep college graduates in state through internships and good and promising jobs. Ascend Indiana and EmployIndy receive a $6 million grant to scale Modern Youth Apprenticeship for high school students in Central Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (June 28, 2022) – Ascend Indiana, the talent and workforce development initiative of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), and EmployIndy, Marion County’s workforce development board, have received $6 million for three years from the Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation to support the scaling of Modern Youth Apprenticeship (MAP) in Marion County. In addition, the grant will help to enhance the connection between employers and education providers to enable expansion of youth career pathways in the state. MAP is a three-year work-based learning experience starting in high school that combines paid employment, on-the-job learning, related academics, aligned college credit, and industry-recognized credentials. Ascend will receive $4 million to provide project oversight and systems leadership. INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 3, 2021) – Ascend Indiana has raised $23.8 million to expand its organization and enhance the infrastructure for the Ascend Network, its proven online job platform that helps job seekers find a job, internship, or training opportunity in Indiana that matches their interests and skills.
