Indiana Economic Development Corporation Press Release INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 28, 2020) – Indiana will launch a new smart manufacturing hub next year to support the long-term growth of the state's manufacturing industry, which is a key driver of Indiana's economy. The new facility, which Governor Eric J. Brookings Institution: An Individualized Network for Connecting Talent With Jobs in Central Indiana

The Brookings Institution has written a case study featuring the innovative program created by CICP talent and workforce development initiative Ascend Indiana and EmployIndy that provides a central location for dislocated workers to connect with available jobs or training opportunities.  The Rapid Re-Employment Response plan is a coordinated effort by the Regional Workforce Partnership (RWP) comprised of nonprofits, employers, state agencies, and community organizations. At the request of Mayor Joe Hogsett, the RWP has turned its collaborative efforts toward a unified plan to assist residents of Indianapolis in getting back to work as quickly and safely as possible. More than 120,000 residents in Marion County filed for unemployment between March and June due to COVID-19, but a new resource launched by EmployIndy and Ascend Indiana provides a central location for those dislocated workers to connect with available jobs or training opportunities. Job seekers will log into an online technology platform called the Ascend Network. Then, the job seeker will follow a streamlined process to connect with needed career services and get individualized support to help them find meaningful employment or training. A recent IndyStar article examined reasons why Indiana (so far) has had a more successful reopening than many other states. Mark Muro, a senior fellow at Brookings Institution, sees the coalition of business, academic and philanthropic leaders that make up the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership as a contributing factor. In particular, he points to the three safe return-to-work playbooks developed by CICP, it's initiatives, Cummins and many of CICP's member organizations. 16 Tech Shortlists Six Firms for Design of Signature Bridge, Entrances and Wayfinding Project

INDIANAPOLIS – A shortlist of six firms has been chosen to advance to the next stage in 16 Tech Community Corporation’s process to select a design team for a bridge that will serve as an architectural centerpiece for downtown Indianapolis and the 16 Tech Innovation District. The six lead designers, selected from a field of 33 design teams made up of local, national and international firms that responded to a public Request for Qualifications (RFQ) earlier this year, are globally recognized for their architecture, engineering and urban development work.
