Manufacturing Readiness Grants extended through 2023, $20M available for Hoosier manufacturers

INDIANAPOLIS (June 10, 2021) – Applications for the Manufacturing Readiness Grant program, which was launched to stimulate private sector investments to modernize Indiana’s manufacturing sector, have re-opened to Indiana manufacturers across the state. Administered by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) in partnership with Conexus Indiana, this program has been extended through June 2023 with matching grants available to help respond to the global COVID-19 pandemic and position Hoosier operations for future growth and prosperity. Indiana helps expand youth apprenticeships statewide with new national funding partnership

INDIANAPOLIS (June 3, 2021) – Ascend Indiana is expanding its efforts to provide high school students with new high-quality college and career apprenticeship pathways that impart the foundational skills, experiences, social capital and credentials they need to thrive in a rapidly changing economy. Ascend Indiana, IEDC to build on the Indy Autonomous Challenge to attract and retain top tech talent

INDIANAPOLIS (May 25, 2021) ─ Ascend Indiana and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) are partnering to help attract and retain participants in the Indy Autonomous Challenge (IAC) in order to meet a growing need for tech talent in the state’s advanced industries. More than 500 students from 40 universities in 14 U.S. states and 11 countries, including two from Indiana, signed up to compete in the IAC. The IAC is the world’s first head-to-head, high-speed autonomous race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, taking place on Oct. 23, 2021. EmployIndy, Ascend Indiana celebrate inaugural cohort of Modern Apprenticeship program at MAP Signing Day

INDIANAPOLIS (May 15, 2021) – This morning at Ben Davis High School, 26 Central Indiana high school sophomores signed the Modern Apprenticeship certificate of acceptance to work as apprentices for 16 local employer partners*, piloting the first-ever cohort of EmployIndy’s Central Indiana youth apprenticeship program, Modern Apprenticeship. Of the 100+ students that expressed interest, these 26 apprentices were chosen among their peers to participate in Modern Apprenticeship, a two- to three-year paid experience launched in coordination with Ascend Indiana in Fall 2020. EmployIndy, Marion County’s workforce development board, and Ascend Indiana, the talent and workforce development initiative of Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), actively support the apprentices, employers, and general programmatic outcomes for Modern Apprenticeship. Indiana’s life sciences companies accessed more than $9 billion to grow innovation in 2020 BioCrossroads report details funding sources, deals, investors

INDIANAPOLIS (April 12, 2021) -- In 2020, Indiana’s life sciences companies accessed over $9 billion in capital to grow and support innovation. The funding comes from a variety of sources including Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) awards, venture capital, initial public offerings and related public offerings, and mergers and acquisitions. BioCrossroads today issued their annual report, Indiana Life Sciences Capital 2020, which provides details on the funding events throughout the year. The $9 billion includes: $12.6 million SBIR awarded to 21 companies. $262 million in venture capital invested in 44 companies. $141.8 million accessed through public markets by three companies. $8.6 billion+ spent to acquire innovation, representing nine transactions. The market capitalization for Indiana’s public life sciences companies as of Dec. 31, 2020 was $297.6 billion and includes Eli Lilly and Company, Anthem, Zimmer [...]
