Conexus Indiana, in partnership with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and global infrastructure firm AECOM, commissioned the AV Freight Readiness Assessment to understand how automated vehicle (AV) freight technologies are evolving – and how Indiana can prepare to lead.
Key findings show that Indiana is well positioned to lead – but must act quickly, and that collaboration will drive success. Additionally, the report reveals that interstate corridors are the top opportunity with AV freight expected to launch along long-haul highway routes like I-70, I-65, and I-74. Infrastructure needs are targeted and achievable, and the economic potential of early adoption of AV freight is significant.
