On June 14, 2023, Purdue University trustees and Indiana University trustees simultaneously approved the agreements that will effectively dissolve Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) on June 30, 2024.

At the same time, Purdue University established Purdue University in Indianapolis, that will consist of multiple locations around the city providing degrees from Purdue University West Lafayette. The urban campus will assume responsibility for the existing engineering, computer science and technology programs at IUPUI. Purdue also plans to grow several other colleges and departments in Indianapolis including the Daniels School of Business, Pharmacy, Health and Human Sciences, Science and Agriculture. [READ MORE]

Indiana University (IU) established Indiana University Indianapolis. Following the joint announcement, IU announced that it plans to double enrollment in key tech-focused academic programs; invest in expanded research and laboratory space; and expand the ranks of its Indianapolis-based STEM faculty by adding 30 new positions.
