PBS Michiana recently sat down with Marty from Startup South Bend – Elkhart at Momentum, and the energy in the room is apparent even through their video. [Watch the interview here!] If you haven't heard the buzz, South Bend is booming—Apple News even recently called it one of the best places to live and start a business. 

A huge part of that momentum? IDEA Week. 

What started as a Notre Dame initiative has grown into a massive regional festival of innovation, entrepreneurship, and—most importantly—connection. As Marty put it, being an entrepreneur can be a "lonely road," but IDEA Week is the antidote to that isolation. It's where you realize you don't have to "lose your mind" to build a business; you just need the right community. 

The Highlights You Need to Know: The week is a perfect blend of high-level inspiration and "boots-on-the-ground" practical training. Here's what's coming up: 

  • Launch Party: Kick things off with heavy networking at Momentum. 
  • Focus on Elkhart: A full day dedicated to manufacturing innovation and creative entrepreneurs (artists and musicians who drive our economy). 
  • Tactical Workshops: Hands-on sessions at the Community Learning Center to help you solve the "nuts and bolts" of your business. 
  • Inspirational Keynotes: Powerful panels and speakers at South Bend City Church designed to make you say, "I can probably do that, too." 
  • The "Play" Side: Dinner parties, happy hours, and live music (because networking is better with a drink in your hand). 

Whether you're a seasoned founder or just have a "napkin sketch" of an idea, this is the place to find your people. In a big city, you're a number; here, if you don't know the person who can help you, someone you know definitely does.
