Hoosier tech leader to play key role in Indiana’s ‘Biggest Night in Tech’
INDIANAPOLIS (October 1, 2026) — With a simple, “I’m In,” Scott Dorsey has committed to serve as the first-ever honorary chair of TechPoint’s Mira Awards, beginning a new chapter in the event’s nearly 30-year history.
Slated for April 23 at the new Signia by Hilton Indianapolis, the Mira Awards are Indiana’s biggest night in tech, featuring the founders, executives, builders, investors, educators and entrepreneurs powering a key sector of the state’s economy.
As honorary chair, Dorsey will partner with the TechPoint team and president & CEO Eric Christopher, a former colleague at Zylo and ExactTarget, to bring fresh thinking to the judging process, develop more meaningful partnerships with sponsors, and make Mira an extraordinary night for the people it honors and all in attendance.
An early TechPoint board member and longtime champion for Indiana’s tech community, Dorsey has attended nearly every Mira Awards celebration in the years since he and his co-founders launched ExactTarget. In 2011, he earned the Trailblazer Award.
“I am really excited to partner with Eric and the TechPoint team to deliver the most dynamic Mira Awards yet,” said Scott Dorsey, honorary chair of the Mira Awards. “This magical event brings together our technology community, celebrates accomplishments and provides inspiration to our rising entrepreneurs. Winning a Mira Award can truly change the trajectory of a company or individual!”
Christopher, who joined TechPoint as president and CEO in April, is leading the “I’m In” charge for the 2027 Mira Awards. Christopher, a former award winner, believes Dorsey’s connection to founders and the startup community will guide the work ahead.
“Scott will bring new ideas to the judging, partnerships and the event itself,” he said. “But he also understands that the most powerful moments at Mira are real ones, when people recognize the work and the people behind it.”
TechPoint will announce award categories and deadlines in November.
“I want people to leave Mira excited about what Indiana can do next,” Christopher said. “It has been an honor and privilege to work with and learn from Scott throughout my career. I know the energy he brings when he believes in something, and he believes in the strength of the tech community and what we can accomplish together.”
