New Study: Indiana in early stages of advanced technology adoption; Budgets and roadmaps needed for widespread adoption

INDIANAPOLIS – Conexus Indiana, in partnership with Indiana University Kelley School of Business Center for Excellence in Manufacturing, released a study today that shows Indiana advanced manufacturing and logistics companies are in various stages of adopting smart manufacturing technologies and identifies a path forward to help spur widespread technology adoption among Indiana manufacturers of all sizes. TechPoint S.O.S. Challenge Winner to be announced Friday

July 28, 2020 — On Friday, July 31, TechPoint, the nonprofit, industry-led growth accelerator for Indiana’s technology companies, and Governor Eric Holcomb will announce the winners of the TechPoint Summer Opportunities for Students Challenge (S.O.S.). The Challenge, provided up to 500 students from Indiana colleges and universities a five-week summer internship experience, helping them strengthen their resumes, demonstrate skills, make professional connections and develop potential solutions to a number of COVID-19-related problems. The student teams were assigned “coaches” from a pool of 200 volunteers from the Indiana tech community. Statement of Support: We, leaders from the business community throughout Indiana, endorse Governor Holcomb’s decision to mandate wearing masks in public places for all Hoosiers, effective July 27, 2020, in response to the continuing challenges of COVID-19. All organizations and people in the state have a role to play in mitigating the spread of this dangerous and disruptive disease, which shows few signs of abating. The Governor’s announcement reinforces what many of us are already doing in our own organizations -- requiring the use of masks in the workplace. Indiana businesses encouraged to apply for Manufacturing Readiness Grants

INDIANAPOLIS, June 30, 2020 – Applications for the Manufacturing Readiness Grant program, which Governor Eric J. Holcomb and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) first announced in May, are now open to Indiana manufacturers across the state. The Manufacturing Readiness Grants, administered by the IEDC in partnership with Conexus Indiana, are part of the $10 million Economic Activity Stabilization and Enhancement (EASE) program designed to stimulate manufacturing investments that will position Hoosier operations, and the sector overall, for future growth and prosperity. Indiana’s life sciences industry ranks among the top 10 in national report

INDIANAPOLIS (June 9, 2020) – Seven Indiana cities are recognized for their national life science strengths, according to Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) and TEConomy Partners’ biennial survey of the U.S. life sciences industry released today. Bloomington, Evansville, Indianapolis, Lafayette, Michigan City, South Bend and Terre Haute are identified in the report as having significant life sciences activity. Lafayette is one of only seven cities in the U.S to have employment specializations in four of the five industry subsectors. INDIANAPOLIS (May 27, 2020) — Thousands of college students from across the U.S. have lost on-site summer internships due to COVID-19, but 500 of those college students from Indiana are getting some help thanks to a new challenge being launched by TechPoint, Indiana’s industry-led, nonprofit tech sector growth initiative. The Summer Opportunities for Students (S.O.S.) Challenge will provide up to 500 students from Indiana colleges and universities a five-week summer experience, helping them strengthen their resumes, demonstrate skills, and make professional connections.
