MUNCIE, Ind. (Dec. 12, 2023) – Ball State University’s Office of Industry Engagement has partnered with Ascend Indiana to connect more students to promising career opportunities in Indiana. Through the Ascend Network, the initiative’s online job matching platform, Ball State students can connect with Indiana jobs and internships that match their skillsets and interests and receive increased one-on-one career guidance and job search support.

The network adds a resource to the University’s robust efforts to help students find jobs and internships that align with their career goals and provides insight into companies and the variety of prospects in the Hoosier State.

“We are grateful to form a partnership with Ascend Indiana to help provide more opportunities for our students in Indiana,” said Jeff Eads, director for industry engagement at Ball State. “In addition to the Indiana Connection Lounge and the excellent work being done by Ball State’s Career Center, this partnership with Ascend will continue to help students contribute to our state’s workforce, which features alumni working in all 92 counties.”

Since its inception in 2017, Ascend has connected more than 4,000 Hoosiers with jobs and training opportunities in all sectors across the state. More than 700 employers currently use the network.

“It is critical for Indiana to retain more college students with relevant skills and abilities to meet employer demand for talent,” said Jason Kloth, president and CEO of Ascend Indiana. “Partnering with educational institutions such as Ball State University is essential to equipping students with the necessary tools to get their career started here through an internship or early-in-career job, as well as to helping employers connect to the talent they need.”

The Ascend Network is a resource offered to students at no cost. Through the network and in partnership with the Ball State Career Center, students will receive individualized support, educational resources, and personalized job and internship recommendations that lead to fulfilling careers and meaningful lives in Indiana.
