President and CEO, AgriNovus Indiana
Beth Bechdol is the president and CEO of AgriNovus Indiana, CICP’s agbiosciences initiative. Previously, she served as the director of Agribusiness Strategies for Ice Miller LLP and managed their Food and Agribusiness legal team and services, and provided leadership to the Agribusiness Council of Indiana as president of the organization.
Bechdol was the deputy director of the Indiana State Department of Agriculture during Governor Mitch Daniels’ first term. Her public service roles in agriculture extend beyond Indiana to Washington, D.C. where she served as chief of staff to the Under Secretary for Farm and Foreign Agriculture Services at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and as an economist on the Senate Agriculture Committee under Senator Richard Lugar. Bechdol began her career working with the agribusiness industry in the Washington office of Informa Economics and became the company’s first female vice president.
Bechdol serves on numerous professional and community boards – many related to agriculture -including the National FFA Sponsors’ Board, Purdue Research Foundation, the National Grain and Feed Association, the Farm Foundation’s Bennett Roundtable, the Indiana State Fair Commission, the Indiana Humanities Council and the Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeastern Indiana.
She received her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University in international affairs and completed her master’s degree at Purdue University in agricultural economics. Bechdol is the sixth generation on her family’s farm in Auburn, Indiana.
